Join Africana Studies at the University of Miami for an engaging conversation with two distinguished Caribbean scholars as they explore the intersections of personal history, archival research, and creative scholarship. This dialogue will delve into how their individual journeys and family stories shape their academic pursuits and inspire innovative ways of sharing knowledge with their communities.
Chantalle F. Verna is Associate Professor of History and International Relations at FIU. Her research focuses on the relationship between domestic and global affairs, particularly in the histories of Ayiti (Haiti) and the United States.
Michael A. Henry is an independent scholar whose research explores the intersections of Jamaican Indo-Caribbean histories, digital storytelling, archival decolonization, and community engagement.
